The easiest way to get help with deliveries as an iDlvr driver

As an iDlvr-er, most of the time you will cruise solo - but there are times when having a buddy on the road to lend a hand can make all the difference. Let's discuss the times when having a trusty sidekick to help with deliveries can be advantageous - and how a handy in-app feature can make finding someone easier!

High-volume deliveries

Ever arrived to pick up a delivery and realised you need an extra pair of hands? High-volume deliveries are very common with iDlvr, especially during peak business hours. Having a buddy to help with these deliveries can significantly improve your efficiency. As well as helping with loading and unloading, they can also assist with finding an efficient route through busy streets and elusive parking spaces. This level of collaboration saves valuable time and ensures timely deliveries, improving your customer service and enhancing overall service productivity.

Large or heavy items

Handling large or heavy items can be physically demanding and potentially risky for a solo delivery driver. Unless you're as strong as Arnold Schwarzenegger (we wish!), chances are lifting heavy furniture or heavy appliances will be a challenge! But with a delivery partner by your side, handling these items becomes more manageable, while the risk of personal injury or damage to the items being delivered decreases. A burden shared is a burden halved - literally!

When safety or security is a concern

There’s nothing more important than driver safety on the road. Delivery drivers will often find themselves operating in new environments, unfamiliar areas, and even during nighttime hours. The presence of a buddy provides an additional layer of protection and reassurance. You can have an extra set of eyes and ears to help you identify potential threats, deter unwanted attention and navigate challenging or unfamiliar areas. It’s like having a personal sidekick without the costume and catchy theme song!

Complex weather conditions

From heavy rain and strong winds to extreme heat and even snow, challenging weather conditions can pose significant challenges for delivery drivers. Having a buddy during these times is crucial. They can provide an extra pair of hands and help you navigate through the weather. They can also assist with securing packages or even clearing a safe path to the drop-off location. With support, drivers can stay focused, adapt to changing conditions and improve their delivery time while keeping themselves (and their cargo) safe.

Request help with deliveries

We want your deliveries to be as efficient as possible. That’s why our app includes a convenient feature that allows drivers to request additional helpers. If you arrive to pick up an order and think it’s too much to handle, you can put in a request through the order dashboard and specify if you need help at the pick-up point, the drop-off point or both. We’ll put the call out to another driver in the area - and they’ll gladly come to assist you. Just be sure to thank them once the delivery is complete!

When it comes time to pay your helper for their time, don’t stress! They will receive a flat fee that is covered by the customer. Regardless of how far you travel, you will always receive a minimum amount - and be fairly compensated for any extra distance you travel!

The power of a buddy on the road

Whether it’s high-volume goods, bulky items, security concerns or tackling tricky weather, a trusty sidekick to help with deliveries can enhance your efficiency and ensure happy customers. Leverage our handy in-app feature to request help or have a buddy ride shotgun with you to ensure your deliveries run as smoothly as possible. Happy delivering!
